RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the end-to-end planning, execution, and hosting for an annual dYdX-hosted conference focusing on trading and hosted internationally
- Manage sponsorships and panel/keynote participation for the dYdX team at crypto, DeFi, and web3 conferences/events hosted throughout the year
- Plan events around major crypto conferences
- Plan and host regular events (live and/or virtual) for top dYdX users 6-12 times a year
- Plan regular swag and merchandise releases for top users and community members
- Manage these activities within the context of a budget plan
- Manage all related vendor/partner relationships
- Proactively seek out other opportunities to build and expand the dYdX brand globally (especially outside the US)
- Proactively seek opportunities to tie these events in with the dYdX product and roadmap in creative ways (combining on-chain and off-chain dynamics)
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3-5 years working directly in an event planning capacity (ideally at a technology and/or finance company)
- Minimum 1-2 years of crypto-specific event planning experience, especially large-scale and/or distributed
- Strong digital marketing and brand-building intuition
- A “get it done” attitude and ownership mentality – bias toward action, great collaboration and master disambiguation – constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery
- Execution and detail oriented with the humility, drive, and scrappiness to get things done
- Communicate effectively and in a structured manner across all mediums
- Project management, time management, and ability to multitask
- Desire and passion to go deep in crypto and DeFi as well as prior crypto event attendance and participation (if no direct crypto event experience previously)
